In physics, Escape Velocity means the speed at which an object can break free from a planet's gravitational field.  In the Think & Grow Balls! philosophy, however, it means the energy and momentum required to break free from your own mental, habitual, and gravitational pull so you can leave your old ways of thinking far behind... and become the person you are meant to be.

Below Is An Escape Velocity Pep-Talk...

I first want to congratulate you on your decision to motivate and encourage yourself to take action in your life. Sometimes it can seem as if life DOES things to you, when in reality YOU DO things to life. Life is really just responding to YOU AND YOUR ACTIONS.

Just a reminder: I start each pep-talk with a quote that speaks to people on how to "think" differently in order for them to "feel" and "act" and ultimately, to "believe" differently. Here's this week's quote:

"A good encyclopedia contains most of the known facts of the world, but they are useless as sand dunes until organized and expressed in terms of action."  - Unknown

I like this quote because it reminds me of the movie The Matrix when Morpheus tells Neo that, "knowing the path is different from walking the path."

I agree with both Morpheus and the speaker of the quote above. It's telling you that all the information in the world is useless unless we apply it to the real world. By applying your knowledge of a subject (hopefully towards achieving your definite purpose) you get a chance to receive feedback.

It's this feedback that lets you know whether you are on track or not.

You can then make adjustments... and more adjustments... untill you reach your goal(s).

So, to sum up... learn what you can but don't allow yourself to experience "paralysis through analysis".

Understand that it's not likely you'll know everything you need to know before you start.

You'll "learn as you go" or "on the fly".

Often times, you're going to have to experience defeat in order to learn the lessons you'll eventually need to succeed.

Experience is a great teacher; but, YOU must choose to be the student.

I sincerely hope I can reduce your fear and encourage you to make the happiest life possible for yourself.

Onward & Upward,

J.D.
